At The Letting Partnership we believe in the power of community, compassion, and giving back. That’s why we are thrilled to announce our partnership with not just one, but two incredible charities this year: The Rockinghorse Children’s Charity and Care for Veterans.
Introducing Our Chosen Charities
The Rockinghorse Children’s Charity has been dedicated to supporting sick and disabled children and young people across Sussex for more than 55 years. Their mission is to improve the lives of children in hospitals by providing essential medical equipment, funding vital research, and creating a more comfortable and nurturing environment for young patients. They deliver and fund projects that enable doctors and nurses to do more.
As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital including the Trevor Mann Baby Unit they work with the NHS, charity partners and the Sussex community to ensure children can be children no matter how sick they are.
The Rockinghorse does not receive any government, statutory or local authority funding and so it relies on the generous support of individuals, community groups, companies and trusts, who care about children and want Sussex to be a safe place for children to grow up.
For over 100 years, Care for Veterans has been dedicated to providing long-term nursing care, rehabilitation, respite and award-winning end-of-life care to disabled ex-servicemen and women. They offer a range of services tailored to meet the individual needs of veterans, helping them to regain independence and live fulfilling lives after their service to our country.
Based in Worthing, West Sussex, their 60-bed complex offers outstanding specialist nursing care, including physiotherapy and occupational therapy, and provides a homely environment for residents who range in age from 20-100 years old.
The majority of residents have an Acquired Brain Injury or a degenerative neurological condition, such as multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and Parkinson’s – for which Care for Veterans provides specialist care.
Care for Veterans also receives no regular government funding and relies on individual donations, organisational support, and charitable funding to continue their vital work. Each year they need to raise over £1.5 million to enable them to continue.
Together, We Can Make a Difference
Our Commitment to Making a Difference
Over the next 12 months, our Charities & Community Team will be pulling out all the stops to raise funds and awareness for these deserving causes. From charity events and fundraising drives to volunteering opportunities and awareness campaigns, we are committed to doing everything we can to support these two amazing charities and the incredible work they do.
How You Can Get Involved:
We believe that everyone has the power to make a difference, no matter how big or small. Whether you’re a member of our team, a valued customer, or simply someone who wants to give back to their community, there are plenty of ways you can get involved and support our chosen charities:
– Donate: Every penny counts, and your generous donations will go directly towards supporting the vital services provided by The Rockinghorse and Care for Veterans. We will be announcing fundraising events through our social media outlets as well as in our monthly lettings newsletter (if you want to sign up for the newsletter click here – we promise not to spam you!)
– Spread the Word: Help us raise awareness by sharing our charity initiatives on social media, talking to your friends and family about the causes we support, and encouraging others to get involved.
Community Engagement
While our Charities & Community Team is devoted to charity work, we also continue to extend our efforts to the local community. We believe in the idea of ‘Think Global, Act Local.’ Therefore, in addition to our annual charity partnerships, we actively engage in activities that uplift and support our local community such as regular donations to food banks, clothes donations and beach cleans.
All members of staff are encouraged to join in these endeavours to create a ripple effect of kindness and community involvement.
